Big Bear Weekend! (1.28.2012)

It's rare that Paul gets a Saturday off, so us snow junkies decided to head to bear mountain. We decided to go to Snow Summit instead of Bear mountain. Both are the two ski resorts in the area.
Snow Summit seems geared for beginning to intermediate skiiers and riders. Mostly green and blues (beginner and intermediate runs). There's also a few runs deemed family friendly. Less intense. Great for me who is trying to improve her skills on the blues, but next time we're going to head to bear mountain. More blacks and more opportunities to challenge myself.

Poor Paul. He has new bindings on his board that come with some pads to make your feet more comfortable. He lost one and we couldn't find it anywhere.

After a long day of skiing, it was off to Cowboy Express for steaks. I had the yummy plank steak with butter and garlic. Paul had a combo of steak and calamari. Filling after so much activity. Pretty good and packed. Has full bar with lots of specialty cocktails. Note to self: do not order a cocktail after a day of only drinking coffee, red bull, and very little water. Could not finish my yummy apple cider with rum. Man the drinks are strong.

The next day its off to our go to breakfast place Grizzly Manor Cafe, home of pancakes as big as your face and omelets that fill a whole plate. Hours are 6am to 2pm with long lines esp during weekends. Its only 8am and Paul and I have 4 parties ahead of us. We're stuck freezing outside. The cafe is a small house with a counter and a few tables.

Until the next adventure,
